How Cystinol akut Coated Tablets work
Key to the antibacterial1,2 action of Cystinol akut Coated Tablets is arbutin, the active substance contained in the herbal medicine and a major constituent of the bearberry leaf extract.
Arbutin is initially inactive and only in the body is it converted to what are known as hydroquinone compounds, which are excreted in the urine.
E. coli bacteria take up these hydroquinone compounds and break them down into free hydroquinone, the active substance. Because the active substance is mainly released only inside the bacteria, its efficacy is largely unaffected by the pH of the urine. When taking Cystinol akut, there is therefore no need to make any changes to your diet at the same time or to take sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) to make your urine more alkaline.
Thanks to the antibacterial1,2 and anti-inflammatory ingredients contained in the bearberry leaf extract, the typical, unpleasant symptoms of uncomplicated urinary tract infections can be relieved with Cystinol akut.
